Want to learn about the wonder of bird migration? Or perhaps about bird species that can be found in Cyprus? This app offers this and more opportunities.

The application consists of 3 parts:

1. A game about bird migration showing the various difficulties and threats migratory birds face, offering knowledge on avifauna and its protection through trivia questions (based on the educational board game developed by BirdLife Cyprus with funding by NABU (BirdLife in Germany) and the Heinz Sielmann Foundation).

2. Compact encyclopedia with photographs and information on some of the bird species found in Cyprus, and which are among the 155 bird species affected by illegal bird trapping. The information on each species includes size, differences between male and female and an interesting fact. The encyclopedia includes information on bird migration, illegal trapping and poaching as well as legal hunting.

3. Function for reporting illegal trapping and poaching by sending GPS coordinates via email* (optional attachment of photos and provision of further information). Users can also report restaurants illegally serving ambelopoulia or other game species. BirdLife Cyprus reports these incidents to the competent authorities ensuring the user’s anonymity.

The app is available in Greek and English.

The creation of this app was funded by the MAVA Foundation through BirdLife International.
